This is my second home using Western Exterminator. I've been a customer for over 20 years. My service is every other month on the exterior - front and back yard. I have had the interior done maybe 3 times! Occasionally I've had a little ant problem in the backyard but it's always due to the weather. They have always taken care of any issues, even if it's between my normal service! They've come out at no extra charge. Very reliable company, very good employees!

Travis always provides excellent customer service. He listens to my concerns and answers my questions. He’s always on time. I appreciate and trust Travis

The same exterminator came by that I have worked with in the past. He was very nice. He checked an additional area in the house to make sore out wasn't new damage, it wasn't. He was very professional and pleasant.

We had a personable efficient tech today. But the previous 3 appts were cancelled causing us to question continuing with this company. We’ll see what happens with the next appt.

The tech took care of the problem caused by the main office in Atlanta not relaying crucial information to him (our dog throwing up after the borax based granular bait application even though we kept her away from the area). He even came up with a reason for the problem (grain based coating causing her problems due to a grain allergy she has.) He made sure we had his cell number so we could call him directly with problems. I am happy with the local Orkin office and would not hesitate to give them 5's. But the main office is frustrating to deal with and I can't give them 5's for that reason.

I would have recommended him for the service type that we had before but he apparently has left and decided to become and fire-fighter and the guy we currently have now claims 11 years of service, I don't find him as reliable, as communicative and they're not coming when they're suppose to be coming right now, in that, they're suppose to come late in the day so that we can let them in the house and treat the interior. It's now been a couple of months since he has come at a time when we could let him in and treat the interior, so not as happy with my service as I was used to. They've done a good job. They do come out reliably, they are responsive for a callback. So, if you really want them back, you can call them, they will come back at a time and work, so. The pricing is moderately expensive. I talk with the guy, he is a little bit talky. The first thing he did was remind me that they had 11 years of experience and then after that it was kind of like, well, you know, the other guy came out at 4:30 when we could let him in the house, when somebody might be home and he's called twice now, that's the night before, and said he's going to be out at 10 AM, nobody is going to be home to let him in the house, so the callbacks are going to be a problem. I really liked the other guy. And I have not had the chance to sit down with the new guy and there are a lots of crawlspaces in the house but I don't think some of them he even knows about.

The regular technician is very prompt and thorough. He has no problem answering my questions. Since having the regular service I have had almost no problem with ants and very little problem with spiders. The insulation in my attic was blown in and gives me an R90 (so I have told). I would recommend this comany to anyone else.

via angieslist

They have been wonderful. They always come when they say they will come and they always do what they say they will do. The guy that helps me is named Constantine. He is wonderful.

via angieslist

They are pretty good. They are not cheap or anything but overall, they are one of the best here. We had termites all over the house and they did quite a nice job. We don't have any more trouble with termites. They are the only ones we have used and I have never had any termite problems after they treat it. You get what you pay for.

Our Terminix professional is 2nd to none! Extremely responsive, professional and punctual. Always willing to go the extra mile. We are fortunate to have “D” assigned to our home. He’s a game changer. Thank you Terminix.

Sean always does a great job of communicating after each service. I’m not always home but he will go out of his way to give me a call, send an email and full service report. Since I’ve been getting regular service each season I’ve seen a huge improvement with ants and spiders. When I first started a would see a colony of ants getting in every few days. Now I rarely ever catch any ants inside or outside. Sean has been great throughout the last couple years. Whenever I’ve reached out he is very responsive and gets back to me with a time he can come back out within the same week.

De'Naysia D. via google

I’d give Sean more than a 5 star review . He’s punctual, very nice , always keeps me informed , willing to work with me if I need to make a change. He’s an awesome representative of your company . I was very disappointed when I heard he was moved out of my area. I’m sure your other employees are very good but Sean is one step above . And as long as he continues to come here , I won’t consider changing service .

Kelly E. via google

Terminix has been absolutely fantastic. Our technician, Sean, has the best customer service out there! He thoroughly performs his job and is always a joy to work with. I highly recommend this company and they are lucky to have an employee like him. Thanks again Sean!!

Technicians are on time, polite, able to answer all my questions. Wear booties when they need to work inside and have great personable personalities. On top of the product they use being scent free. After just the first treatment we saw a major improvement. After the second we have seen nothing and we had major sugar ant issues. HIGHLY recommend this company

Amity C. via google

The gal explained everything so we understood. She let us know about add on services but didn't push for us to get them. We were able to choose what service we wanted with ease. We received a discount because they were doing other houses in the neighborhood. I really feel like we got a good deal. The product is pet safe too! I'm excited to not have ants and wasps visiting this summer.

Pest Control Pricing Insights for Salem, Oregon Residents

When considering pest control services in Salem, Oregon, homeowners can anticipate a range of pricing options that cater to both one-time treatments and ongoing pest prevention plans. The costs are influenced by several factors, such as the size of the residence, the nature of the infestation, and the specific treatment methods applied. For general pest control services, homeowners might expect to pay an initial fee followed by a monthly or quarterly rate. Initial fees can range broadly, generally from around $175 to $350, and monthly services could vary from approximately $40 to $100, contingent on the size of the home and the level of service required. It's important to note that these prices are averages and can fluctuate based on the pest control provider and specialized services.

Pests Covered and Exclusions

Homeowners in Salem can enjoy comprehensive protection against a variety of pests. Typically, pest control plans include common invaders such as ants, spiders, roaches, and mice. However, not all pests are covered under standard plans. Specialty pests like termites, bed bugs, and certain types of wildlife may require additional, focused treatment plans. Also, while some plans may include coverage for rodents, such as mice and rats, they may not include interior rodent control.

Understanding Service Contracts

Many pest control services in Salem operate with service agreements. These contracts usually span annually, offering continuous protection and treatment of your home. Despite this, most companies offer flexibility with cancellation policies. Often, there is no penalty for discontinuing service, and some agreements even allow for cancellation at any time, ensuring that homeowners are not locked into long-term commitments.

Guarantees for Peace of Mind

To instill confidence in their services, many pest control companies in Salem offer satisfaction guarantees. This means if pests persist after treatment, the company will provide additional services at no extra cost. Some guarantees also include money-back options, providing a full refund if the homeowner is not satisfied with the results, solidifying a commitment to effective pest management.

What to Expect During Treatment

The initial visit from a pest control professional usually includes a thorough inspection of the property to identify pest issues and potential entry points. Following this assessment, treatment will commence, often involving interior and exterior applications to create a barrier against pests. Regular maintenance visits will then be scheduled to monitor and ensure continued protection, adapting treatment strategies as needed throughout the year.

Bundling and Add-On Services

Homeowners can benefit from cost savings by bundling various pest control services. Bundles might include general pest control with termite inspection or mosquito treatment, providing a more comprehensive defense against a broader range of pests. Add-on services for pests not typically covered in the standard plan are also available, allowing for a more customized approach to pest management in your home.

Specialized Pest Solutions

Certain pests, due to their nature, require specialized treatment. In Salem, if homeowners face issues with termites, bed bugs, or larger wildlife, pest control companies offer targeted plans to address these specific infestations. These specialized services are essential for dealing with pests that are not included in general pest control plans and may involve different treatment methods and pricing structures.

Choosing Between One-Time and Recurring Services

Deciding between a one-time service and a recurring pest control plan depends on the homeowner's needs. One-time treatments are ideal for addressing a specific, immediate pest problem, while recurring services offer ongoing prevention and control, reducing the chance of future infestations. While one-time services may seem more economical upfront, recurring services provide long-term protection and can be more cost-effective over time.
